5 minute Breakfast: Oats Porridge

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups rolled oats
  • 3 cups milk (or water)
  • 2 tbsps honey (or brown sugar)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • fruit I used 1 banana, 1 kiwi, 2 strawberries and some blueberries

Instructions

  • Put all the ingredients, except the fruit, in a pot.
    Place pot on the stove on a high heat
    Once boiling, turn the heat down to low, allowing the porridge to simmer for 5 minutes while you stir regularly in between slicing your fruit.
    Once the porridge is cooked and relatively smooth put it into bowls and decorate with fruit before devouring.W 

Notes

Using the notes in the ingredients this recipe can easily become suitable for vegans with water or non-dairy milk and brown sugar.
